SECURITY REGULATIONS
It is recommended that the electric supply to this machine should include either a
residual current device that will interrupt the supply if the leakage current to earth
exceeds 30ma for 30ms or a device, which will prove the earth circuit.
SAFETY VALVE
This machine is equipped with one safety valve, able to ensure the
safety of the machine itself in case other primary control devices are inefficient (due to
a failure). Due to the extreme importance of this component and as not to compromise
the safety of the machine, it is recommended to provide to check it and to substitute it
through an authorized service center every 2 years starting from the purchasing date.
PRESSURE SWITCH
This machine is equipped with a pressure switch able to check
and to maintain the pressure under certain preset limits (ref. “rated pressure” on the
technical label underneath the machine). In case there would be a steam leakage on
the lower side of the machine, it means that the functioning of this device has been
compromised and the safety valve has been involved as to limit the boiler’s internal
pressure.
It is recommended not to use the machine, immediately unplug the
machine from the power feeding and call the service center.
MUD DRAIN FROM THE BOILER
If you are not acquainted with the hardness level
of the used water, it is recommended to proceed with the boiler cleaning (according to
the procedure indicated in the proper section) after 24 hours of usage. On the
contrary, if you know the hardness level and it is between 0 and 4 French degrees ,
the boiler cleaning can be carried out after 100 hours of usage.

PRATICAL ADVICES
FOR THE USE OF THE ACCESSORIES STAR
Lance (49):
with this accessory, using only steam, you can do the 80% of the
hosekeeping.
For the most resistant dirt:
(such as cooking hobs, sinks and water taps, dishwash,
crevices, fridge seals, tile joints in the kitchen or in the bathroom, shower boxes, sanitary
etc.) you can use the lance only with the steam, regolating the switches (36 and 37) on
MAX and activating the handle of steam (34).
For the cleaning of radiator heaters:
use again the lance with only MAX steam. It is
important to start cleaning at the top so that the dirt is taken down while working.
For the shutters:
use the lance with only MED. o MAX steam. Direct the steam flow on
the crevices and use a cloth to remove the dissolvent dirt, so that the walls on the side do
not get dirty.

To remove water scale deposits:
on water taps you can use the lance with only
MAX.steam and using a steel wool pad (61) (do not use on enamelled surfaces).
To clean deeply direct the steam flow (MAX) directly on stains, using a wool.
To defrost freezer:
use directly the hand grip (33) without accessories directing the
steam, regulated on MAX, toward the ice and vacuuming, with the vacuum regulator in the
position MAX, to collect the ice pieces and the melted ice. You can use an extension tube
(38) to reach the bottom of the freezer cell..
For the deep cleaning of floor joints:
put the lance directly on the joint with MAX. steam
flow (holding the lance inclined so that the dirt is pushed away). For bigger joints you can
use the lance with the nylon brush (51).
For more delicate cleaning:
(i.e furniture, curtains, lamps, plants, delicate areas in
general etc.) use the lance only with steam, regulated on MAX, keeping it at a distance of
about 30 cm. Dry the forniture with a cloth after having used the steam.
Floor tool (39) with ideal insert (42-43-44):
The various inserts are locked into place by
sliding the latches (40) to the inside and hold the insert in place applying a little pressure
while sliding the latches to the outside. Remember that the command switches on the
handgrip (35,36 and 37) should be switched off.
If necessary, attach the extension tubes (38) and lock them in place using the clamping
latches (38B). It is possible to apply one extension only.
To be able to choose the best suitable accessories for the surfaces to be cleaned and
according to the cleaning jobs to do, please read carefully the following list:
To clean windows
:
there are three systems.
In case of
very dirty windows
, use the lance (49) with the nylon brush (51) and dry with a
cloth afterwards.
In case of
maintenance cleaning
, use the lance (49) directing the MAX. steam flow to the
window, keeping it at a distance of 30 cm. Then dry with a cloth.
Another alternative would be using the window cleaner (48) cleaning simultaneously with
MAX. steam and MAX. vacuum.
To clean upholstery (45 o 39):
(such as mattresses, sofas, armchairs, carpets, car seats
and other fabrics)
there are two ways:
For

To clean floors (such as tiled floors, in terra cotta or ceramic):
use the floor tool (39)
with the squeegee/squeegee insert (42).
For deep cleaning, use first only MAX. steam to degrease surfaces. Then use
simultaneosly steam and vacuum, both regulated on MAX, and finish with only MAX.
vacuumto dry the floor.
For the weekly maintenance, use at the same time MIN steam and MAX vacuum. You can
also use the floor tool (39) wrapped with a cloth fiwed with clamps (41) to create a shiny
effect.
For the daily maintenance use only vacuum regulated on (MAX) with the floor tool (39) and
the squeegee/brush insert (43).
To remove wax from floors:
use the floor tool (39)
with the squeegee/squeegee insert
(42) and clean simultaneously with steam and vacuum, both regulated on MAX.
To distribute wax on the floor:
use the floor tool

only MIN. steam.
USE ONLY OF THE STEAM UNIT (SYST.1) WITH IL KIT JULY
Follow operating instructions from point A)-F):
g) Connect the steam plug (111) to the steam outlet (8) making sure that the steam
command switch (113) on the hand grip is off.
h) you are going to do, tacking particular attention to insert in position "BLOCK" the
security hook (114).
i) To steam clean choose the appropriate accessory (rectangular brush (117) or
triangular (118), window cleaner (116), steam lance (119)etc.). At this point assemble
the extension tubes (115) and secure in place by setting the quick release latches
(114) in the position “BLOCK”. You can choose to use only an extension tube,
depending on the length you want to work with.
j) Wrap a cloth (132) on the rectangular brush (117) (or triangular, 118) and secure it by
using the special clamps (to clean the floors and linings).
k) Attache the brush (or another accessory) to the extension tube (115) and secure it by
setting the quick release latches (114) in the block position. If wanting to use the small
nylon brush (120) remember to first attache the steam lance (119). The steam lance
may also be used without the small brush especially to reach difficult areas (i.e in the
kitchen, in bathrooms etc.).

l) Make sure that the switches (11A and 11B) arranged on the handgrip are off. Isert the
steam plug (111) in the socket (7) making sure that the hook (110) is housed securely.
m) Activating the swithces (113A and 113B) on the handgrip, regulate the steam flow as
follows: switch 113A: MIN steam flow , switch 113B: MED steam flow; switches 113A
and 113B: MAX steam flow. Push the security switch (113) for the output of steam.
PRACTICAL ADVICESES
FOR USING THE ACCESSORIES
Direct the strong steam flow towars cracks, hidden areas, joints, kitchen tops, carpets,
carpets floor, arm chairs, sofas, tapestres, car engines, you will be able to remove easily
and completly grime, grease and dirt in general as well as to achieve a secure disinfecting
and sanitation: after this operation it will be indispensable to pass over with a dry cloth.
Lance (119):
with this accessory, using only steam, you can do the 80% of the
hosekeeping.
In the kitchen:
We suggest the use of the steam lance with the small brushes (120-125-
127). These brushes help to remove the most ostinate dirt from baking surfaces, suction
hoods, frying appliances etc. It is possibile to clean dishwashers by applying steam directly
with the turbo lance. in the case the incrustation is consistent we suggest the use of the
nylon brush (120).
In the bathroom:
For all areas difficult to reach, we suggest applying to the steam hose
handgrip (112) the steam lance and a small brush (120). This accessory allows cleaning
radiator cerices and difficult points. In case of washbasin clogging, attach the plunger
(123) to the turbo lance and direct the steam on the water tube, and dry with a cloth.
WARNING
BY USING THE SMALL BRUSHES ON PORCELAIN EXERT THE LEAST POSSIBLE
PRESSURE BECAUSE YOU MIGHT SCRATCH THE SURFACE.
Window cleaner (116):
Glass or plastic surfaces:
We suggest to use the window cleaner (116) by inserting it directly on the hose of the
handgrip (112), applying steam on the surface. Then use the squeegee on the window
cleaner to remove the dirt and water using vertical movements bringing the dirty water to
the base of surface. Use a dry cloth to dry the base of the surface.

AIDA BABY
18
TECNOVAP REV.0
– 10/2010
Triangular brush (118):
Adapted for the cleaning of armchairs, sofas, and mattresses we
suggest to use the triangular brush with a cloth fastened with a special clamp.
rectangular brush (117):
For tiled floors:
To carry out specific grout cleaning we suggest that you use the steam
lance (119) with the small brush (120 or 125 according to the need). In this way it will be
possible to dislodge the most difficult dirt and remove it from the groust using the applied
pressure. To remove the dirt from the floor use the rectangular brush (117) wrapped in a
cloth, which will work as an “extractor” when fastened with the special clamps. We suggest
applying steam also while picking up the dirty water. To get a good result, work with
surface areas not larger than 5m² thus preventing dirt from drying and adhering on the
floor again. We suggest that you use the brush without the cloth when the dirt to be
disloged is considerable; and when the dirt is not considerable, it is enougth to work with
the brush wrapped in cloth.
When confronted with solid objects while cleaning the floor (i.e. chewing-gum) use the
special scraper (124) which can be attached to the steam lance (119) and is able to
remove stubborn objects without scratching the work surface.
To remove wax from the floor use a cloth fastened to the rectangular brush. The steam
helps loosen the wax so that its removal will be easier . To spread the wax on the floor use
as mentioned above a clean cloth fastened on the brush (117). Put the wax on the cloth,
the heat of the steam will help spread the wax evenly so that its penetration will be eassier
in also this case. When the wax is dry proceed with normal buffing methods.
Only the power of steam is able to replace all types of chemical products.
WARNING
THE GENERATOR PRODUCES STEAM WITH A TEMPERATURE OVER 100° C.
BEFORE STARTING THE CLEANING TASK WE SUGGEST TO TRY ON A SMALL
AREA TO AVOID DAMAGES.
Marble and parquet floor:
We suggest adding a cotton cloth wrapped on the brush (117),
to avoid scratching the surface. To continue the cleaning it is necessary to charge the cloth
according to the quanity of dirt to be collected on the floor.
WARNING
THE STEAM SHOULD NOT BE IN DIRECT CONTACT WITH THE FLOOR FOR AN
EXTENDED PERIOD OF TIME. SUCH SURFACES MAY BE DAMAGED IN CASE OF
COMBINED USE OF EXCESSIVE HEAT, HUMIDITY AND BRISTLES. THEREFORE
CARRY OUT THE TASK IN THE SHORTEST POSSIBLE TIME.

AIDA BABY

Carpets floors:
Before carrying out the cleaning task we suggest that you clean the
carpeted area with a vacuum cleaner.
Then use the brush (117 or 118) with a cotton cloth. The cloth should be replaced
according the quantity of dirt.
Car interiors:
To clean car interiors (upholstery, carpets, seats) follow the cleaning
instructions as for the carpeted floors. To clean a dashboard it is enough to steam the
surface and wipe off with a dry cloth.
USE OF THE VACUUM UNIT (SYST.2) CON IL KIT DRY
Follow operating instructions from point A)-F):
g) Lift the vacuum head from the stainless steel drum (13) by releasing the latches (17).
Pour approx. 1 liter of clean water in the vacuum drum making sure that the water level
is sitting higher than the part of the internal air intake tube (18A). Reposition the
vacuum head (10) onto the drum (13) and clamp in place using the latches (17).
h) Insert the hose coupling from kit Dry (80) into the hose outlet (14) making sure the
clamping latch (18) has locked the hose securely. Verify that the vacuum power switch
(11) located on the vacuum head is off.
i) Insert the power cord (19) into the extension cord which should be of watertight
integrity, and then into the nearest electric outlet, and make sure that the voltage and
amperage correspond to those found on the rating plate (located on the head).
j) While using the vacuum cleaner as a wet vac, when the water level has reached its
maximum level in the drum 2÷3 L, there is a loss in suction power and a change in the
noise of the motor.
k) In this case, turn off the vacuum power switch (11) and unplug the power cord (19) and
lift the vacuum head from the stainless steel drum (13) by releasing the latches (17)
Empty the drum making sure to have detached the vacuum hose (80). Rince and refill
the drum as described in step (b) of this section.
l) When finished working lift the vacuum head (10) rince the drum and place the drum in
a secure place allowing it to dry.

12. MAINTENANCE
MAINTENANCE OF THE STEAM GENERATOR
WARNING
SWITCH OFF THE ELETTRIC SUPPLY BEFORE PROCEEDING TO THE USER’S
MAINTENANCE.
WE SUGGEST CLEANING THE BOILER ONLY WHEN THE MACHINE HAS COOLED
DOWN (SWITCHED OFF FOR AT LEAST 5 HOURS)
ELIMINATION OF SCALE DEPOSITS FROM THE BOILER
We suggest cleaning the boiler after every 100 hours of use, or also if the machine
produces water or dirty steam.
Unscrew the boiler cap (5), and fill with clean water. Position the machine over a recipient
container and remove the boiler drain cap (6). Pieces of scale could block the drain
opening. A screwdriver can be used to free the outlet. Once the water has drained, replace
the drain cap (6), and fill again the boiler with clean water Repeat this operation 2-3 times.
At this point, the rinsing of the boiler is complete and your. AIDA BABY is now again ready

MAINTENANCE OF THE IRON
This professional iron has a pure aluminium plate. only aluminium enables perfect ironing
but is subject to oxidation. To avoid this incovenience, we suggest placing the iron on one
side for cooling down so that the iron plate has no contact to other materials. Wrap the iron
in a cloth for storing.
MAINTENANCE OF THE ACCESSORIES
Clean and grease occasionally with grease approved from TECNOVAP the connections of
the hose extension and of the accessories.
