REMOTE CONTROL USER GUIDE
Air Flow DirecQon control
Cau3on
Do not operate the air condiQoner for long periods with
the air flow direcQon set downward in cooling or
dehumidifying mode. Otherwise, condensaQon may
occur on the surface of the horizontal louver causing
moisture to drop on the floor or on furnishings. Do not
move the horizontal louver manually unless it is necessary,
always use the remote controller.
When the air condiQoner is started immediately aXer it
was stopped, the horizontal louver might not move for
approximately 10 seconds. Open angle of the horizontal
louver should not be set too small, as COOLING or
HEATING performance may be impaired due to restricted
air flow. Do not operate unit with horizontal louver in
closed posiQon. When the air condiQoner is connected to
power (iniQal power), the horizontal louver may generate a
sound for 10 seconds, this is a normal operaQon.

TROUBLESHOOTING TIPS
12
Normal funcQon of the air condiQoner
The following events may occur during normal operaQon.
•
ProtecQon of the air condiQoner prevents the compressor from starQng again unQl
3-‐4 minutes aXer it stops.
•
The unit is designed to not blow cold air during heaQng mode, when the indoor heat exchanger is
in one of the following three situaQons and the set temperature has not been reached:
A) When heaQng has just started.
B) DefrosQng.
C) Low temperature heaQng.
•
The indoor or outdoor fan stops running when defrosQng.
•
Frost may be generated on the outdoor unit during heat cycle when outdoor temperature is low and
humidity is high resulQng in lower heaQng efficiency of the air condiQoner. During this condiQon the
air condiQoner will stop heaQng operaQon and start defrosQng automaQcally. The Qme to defrost
may vary from 4 to 10 minutes according to the outdoor temperature and the amount of frost built
upon the outdoor unit.
•
A white mist may generate due to a large temperature difference between air inlet and air outlet
on COOL mode in an indoor environment that has a high relaQve humidity. A white mist may
generate due to moisture generated from defrosQng process when the air condiQoner restarts in
HEAT mode operaQon aXer defrosQng.
•
Noise. You may hear a low hissing sound when the compressor is running or has just stopped
running. It is the sound of the refrigerant flowing or coming to a stop. You can also hear a low "squeak“
sound when the compressor is running or has just stopped running. This is caused by heat expansion
and cold contracQon of the plasQc parts in the unit when the temperature is changing. A noise may be
heard due to louver restoring to its original posiQon when power is turned on.
•
Dust blows from the indoor unit. This is a normal condiQon when the air condiQoner has not been
used for a long Qme or during first use of the unit.
•
A peculiar smell comes from the indoor unit. This may be caused by the indoor unit giving off smells
permeated from building material, from furniture, or smoke.
•
The air condiQoner turns to FAN only mode from COOL or HEAT mode. When indoor temperature
reaches the temperature sesng on air condiQoner, the compressor may stop automaQcally, and the
air condiQoner turns to FAN only mode. The compressor will start again when the indoor temperature
rises on COOL mode or falls on HEAT mode to the set point

TROUBLESHOOTING TIPS
•
The air condiQoner runs anQ-‐mildew funcQon aXer turning off the unit. When turning off the unit
under COOL (AUTOCOOL, FORCED COOL) and DRY mode, the air condiQoner will run in this funcQon
for 7-‐10 minutes, then stop the operaQon and turn off the unit automaQcally. AnQ-‐mildew turns off
on HEAT mode, the unit will conQnue operaQng for about 30 seconds at LOW fan speed then stop
the operaQon and turn off the unit automaQcally.
•
Dripping water may form on the surface of the indoor unit when cooling in high relaQve
humidity. Adjust the horizontal louver to the maximum air outlet posiQon and select HIGH fan speed.
•
HeaQng mode. The air condiQoner draws in heat from the outdoor unit and releases it via the indoor unit
during heaQng operaQon. When the outdoor temperature falls, heat drawn in by the air condiQoner
decreases accordingly. At the same Qme, heat loading of the air condiQoner increases due to larger
difference between indoor and outdoor temperature. If a comfortable temperature can't be achieved
by the air condiQoner, we suggest you use a supplementary heaQng device.
•
Auto-‐restart funcQon. Any power failure or drop in DC voltage below 46v will stop the unit completely
unQl power is restored or baKeries charge above 48v. When power restores, the unit restarts automaQcally
with all the previous sesngs preserved by the memory funcQon.
•
Power is on but unit wont run. Power surge, nearby lighQng ballast, unshielded electrical wiring, wireless
interference, use of other IR remote controllers (like used for TV etc.) or other electronic interference
nearby may cause the unit and/or the remote control IR receiver to malfuncQon. Disconnect the unit
completely from power for 30 seconds and then re-‐connect the unit with power again. Push the ON/OFF
buKon on the remote controller to restart operaQon. Do not allow direct sunlight to shine on the remote
control IR receiver of the indoor unit.
•
The protecQon of outdoor low temperature. The protecQon of outdoor low temperature can be
acQvated only in the HEATING mode. The unit will stop operaQng and display "P3“ on the LCD window
of the indoor unit when the outdoor temperature is lower than 5F(-‐15C) for one hour, but the indoor
unit in this situaQon can sQll receive the signal from the remote controller. The unit will restart
automaQcally with all the previous sesngs preserved by the memory funcQon when the outdoor
temperature is or higher than 11F (-‐12C) for 10 minutes and the compressor stops operaQng for
more than one hour, or when the outdoor temperature is or higher than 41F (5C) for 10 minutes.
