Intro
Thank you for choosing the LEWITT MTP 740 CM!
The austrian-developed MTP 740 CM handheld microphone is an excellent choice in LEWITT‘s product range,
when you are looking for high-definition condenser studio technology for live vocals. It features the same
1-inch studio capsule design like the handheld perfomance flagship MTP 940 CM, but with a streamlined set
of features in order to create the most competitive product package in the perfomance microphone segment.
Whereas classic dynamic handheld vocal microphones like Lewitt‘s MTP 840 DM are your best bet in noisy and
rough rock & roll stage environments, the MTP 740 CM is perfectly qualified to transfer even the most nuanced
and delicate vocal arrangements from the studio to a live stage.
Great vocals don‘t go well with any distractions. The MTP 740 CM‘s cardioid polar pattern provides effective rear
noise rejection and impressive feedback resistance when in use with floor monitors while unique suspension
technology ensures shock resistance and eliminates structure-born noise efficiently.
A superior dynamic range of 138 dB (A) with exceptionally low self-noise of 14 dB (A) sets new standards in
current handheld microphone design and makes this condenser transducer capable of capturing even the most
dynamic performances but although the MTP 740 CM was primarily developed for live vocal performances,
there are quite a few other fields of application: try it also on jazzy snare drums and all sorts of percussion and
acoustic instruments!

and pre-attenuation. You can turn off the LED‘s with the LED switch
.
Low-cut filter
//
Use this filter to get rid of unwanted low frequency content
caused by wind, footsteps, structure-borne noise, etc. The low-cut filter at
80Hz affects the microphone input by 12dB per octave and can be accessed by
unscrewing the upper part of the grill.
pre-attenuation
//
Use this -10 dB pad function to prevent clipping when
recording very loud sources.
