Software Installation

Under  driver  menu,  please  open  Installer.exe  file  and  install  Leap  450  control
board program.

2.

Operation Instruction

Leap  450  3D  Quad  supports  Futaba  S.Bus,  Spektrum  Satellite  receivers
DSM/DSMX, and JR X.Bus Mode B. Please refer to assembly instruction above
for wiring.

In order to bind to your satellites.

1)

Plug in the power wire (Red/Black) into the S.Bus/X.Bus port. Make sure to
check the Leap Control Board diagram for proper polarity. If using Futaba
S.Bus receiver plug the power wire into the RX S.Bus battery port. At this
time connect S.Bus wire to Leap 450 and RX S.Bus.

2)

Open Leap Firmware.

3)

Use mini USB chord to connect to Leap 450.

4)

On screen you will see in green connected when USB port is plugged into
Leap 450.

Assembled View

5)

Go to receiver type select S.Bus, X.Bus (Mode B), SPK Sat DSMX, or SPK
Sat DSM2.

6)

Go to binding select On.

7)

Then remove mini USB from port. Now reconnect the mini USB to Leap 450.
Your satellites will be blinking.

8)

Now  press  the  bind  button  on  your  radio  and  satellite  will  go  solid.  Your
status light on the Leap Control Board should now be solid green.

9)

The Leap Setup Program allows you to bind and setup your radio to make
sure all controls are moving in the correct direction prior to use. For all radio
types Futaba,  Spektrum,  and  JR the binding process can  be  achieved by
use of the mini USB connection on the main control board.

  10)  Testing  of  all  functions  can  be  checked  prior  to  use  via  the  Leap  Quad

Software.

Connect Leap 450 to computer via USB port and run Leap Setup Program.

3. Transmitter Settings

Set up your transmitter according to the receiver installed. Select Airplane

mode and restore all settings  to factory.    Set all sub trims and expos  to  zero.
Channel 5 will be used for flight modes.

Using  the  transmitter  input  panel,  ensure  proper  value  and  direction  of

travel for all channels.

Flight settings recommendations:

Futaba:
Set Reverse Throttle.  Set Channel 5 for flight mode selection.

Spektrum:
Aileron, Elevator, Rudder, Gear channels set to Reverse. Set Gear for flight mode
selection.

JR PROPO:

Aileron,  Elevator,  Rudder,  Gear  channels  set  to  Reverse.  Set  Gear  to  for  flight
mode selection. Use Mode B for Bus type in your radio menu.

Flight control board LED Indicator

Green LED constant on - Idle mode (Standby mode)

Green LED fast flash - Manual mode (3D mode)

Green LED slow flash- Attitude Mode

Red LED constant on - transmitter signal search.

4.  Flight settings and adjustments

a)

Using

transmitter’s Aileron, Elevator, Rudder endpoints and expo, adjust manual

mode roll rate. Higher endpoints will yield faster roll rate.

b)

Set Throttle endpoints higher for more sensitive throttle input. For manual mode,
highest throttle endpoints is recommended.

Flight operation:

From Idle Mode, switch to either Manual mode (3D mode) or Attitude Mode.

Slowly increase Throttle  and the  LED lights  on the arms  will flash rapidly.  Keep
increasing the throttle slowly until the LED lights turn constantly on. Once the LED
lights on the arms are on constant, the quad is ready for taking off.

Power down:

Find a safe area for landing and switch to Idle mode once landed. This will

power down all motors.

Attention:

Throttle stick  above mid-stick  will give positive lift. Mid-and below will give

negative lift.
