Mini-Split Wireless Wall Thermostat Kit
Your kit includes:

MINI-SPLIT THERMOSTAT CONTROL PACKAGE
LG Electronics, Inc.
IMPORTANT – LG Mini-Split UNIT must be
unplugged before starting the installation.
Refer to Mini-Split Owner’s Manual

Remove Front Grille Cover by pulling out the bottom of the front
grille and then lift up.

Remove Option Cover of the Control Box, located on the right
side, by removing the screw at the top.

Power up the LG Mini-Split UNIT.

Wire the Minisplit Control Card as per the diagram.
Once you have wired the card, place the sensor aligned to
the cover. Remove the adhesive cover and firmly press the
plastic housing to the Mini-split unit.

ADVANCED SETTINGS
The LG Mini-Split Wireless Wall Thermostat Kit is
designed to work seamlessly with the LG Mini-Split
Unit. In many installations multiple units will be
installed so to ensure proper installation and opera-
tion each Wireless Wall Thermostat in every room
must be merged within the proximity of the Mini-
Split Unit the same room. Follow these steps for
success every time!
STEP 1
On the bottom right of the thermostat touch and release the black
reset button.

When you see the display indicate touch for advanced settings
– touch the screen immediately
•
Now you are ready to setup
the thermostat.
INSTALLING THE THERMOSTAT
Locat
e your Thermostat approximately 5 ft (1.5m) meters above the
floor. For best results ensure that the thermostat is away from direct
sunlight and on an interior wall.
Using the dimensions 3.2” wide 3.1” (81mm x 78mm) high or the
template included, locate where the thermostat will be placed and cut
out the space on the wall.
Insert the battery backplate into the cut-out area ensuring the top is up
Mark the four inside holes for drilling the 3/16” holes required for the
plastic screw anchors
Remove the battery backplate and drill four (4) 3/16” holes in these
locations.
Insert the plastic gyproc screw anchors and tighten them securely.
Mount the battery backplate using four (4) supplied screws
Insert two (2) D batteries into the recess.
Important: Use only Alkaline
Size D batteries for normal life operation.
Align four (4) pins on the thermostat to the battery backplate and
gently but firmly attach the two units together
Using four (4) 1” screws provided, place them in the four outside
holes and fasten tightly. Replace the top trim.

DAYLIGHT TIME :
Choose Daylight Time On or Off dependent
on your Time Zone.
ADVANCED SETTINGS - WELCOME
ENERGY WATCH:
Enter the HVAC system consumption
parameters (rounded off to kW) as well as your electrical
energy cost (¢/kW) and the ENERGY WATCH feature
will display a real time totals of electrical energy consumption
and cost. To review touch the ENERGY WATCH button on
the MENU SCREEN.
* EXAMPLE: Heat Pump 1kW/ton, 5-30 kW, 7-9¢/kW
ENERGY WATCH
feature will run consecutively for 255 days.
If you do not enter your information what will appear on
the display is the total time the Compressor has been
operating.
FILTER:
Enter the air filter "fan run time" information here.
The Filter Monitor feature uses this information to inform you
when to change or clean your air filter by displaying
CHANGE FILTER icon on the HOME SCREEN.

ADVANCED SETTINGS
These are the factory default settings

IMPORTANT: By inadvertently modifying system configuration
settings, you may seriously degrade HVAC system performance.
➜
Choose system heating and cooling equipment – remember all
you need to do is toggle the appropriate button until the correct
setting appears.

CYCLE RATE :
Set the Maximum compressor cycles per hour.
We recommend that the factory default be maintained for
optimal performance.

THE LG Mini Split Thermostat can run the fan in 4 speeds to
ensure quality air circulation and comfort. By initializing the
fan between 1 and 4 degrees from your setpoint, and choosing
the fan speed you control comfort and maximize efficiency,
and reduce fan noise.

The LG Wireless Wall Thermostat Kit is designed to work seamlessly
with the LG Mini-Split Unit. In many installations multiple units will
be installed so to ensure proper installation and operation each
Wireless Wall Thermostat in every room must be merged with the
Mini-Split Unit the same room.

Press INIT Mini-Split on thermostat screen 5 seconds until
you see the message:
PLEASE WAIT….

Immediately press the black button located on the Mini-Split
Control Card

Within 1 minute a message will appear on the screen acknowledging
the communication links:
LINK SUCCEEDED
LINK FAILED
Touch TEST Mini-Split
You need to repeat
The fan will immediately come on

You have now merged the thermostat with the Mini-Split Unit.
Momentarily touch the reset button on the bottom right
corner of the thermostat and when the message
TOUCH FOR LG
THERMOSTAT
appears, touch immediately. You have now
configured the thermostat and you can move to the room settings.

Final Phase

USING THE THERMOSTAT
International Icons provide friendly and easily recognizable sym-
bols with word back-up to control all features.
Your Mini-Split thermostat can run in Program Mode or hold a fixed
temperature.
RUN PROGRAM :
Your custom program settings will be initiated
– 4 events per day including the fan mode.
HOLD TEMPERATURE :
Allows you to raise or lower the
temperature setpoint by touching the heat/cool

• PROGRAM SETTINGS :
This feature easily and quickly programs your
thermostat to fit your needs and lifestyle. Remember by programming
the thermostat you can increase energy efficiency and reduce costs.
•
7 Day Programmable with 4 events per day including Fan Mode
•
Select the Day of the Week
•
Select the Event number: for example 1
•
Select the Start Time: for example 7:00 AM
•
Choose desired temperature setpoint – by raising or lowering
the heat/cool button
•
Choose the next event: for example 2 and repeat the steps
MENU PAGE - PROGRAM SETTINGS
•
ENERGY WATCH :
This unique and patented feature provides a
display of system energy consumption and the cost of running your
HVAC system. This feature must be activated in the ADVANCED
SETTINGS of the Thermostat.
Once you have set all the events for one day you may copy the same settings to other
days of the week. First ensure that your program settings are correct. Then select the
next day of the week that you would like to have the same program setting. Mini-
Split will then prompt you to copy the settings. Remember that you must choose RUN
Program from the control page to activate this feature.

MENU PAGE - OCCUPANCY SENSE ON
OCCUPANCY SENSOR
will determine whether the space is occupied or
unoccupied and then will turn on or turn off the equipment to ensure
maximum comfort, energy and efficiency.
ADVANCED SETTINGS
•
REVERSE : OFF | ON
By choosing OFF – the screen will be
viewed in normal mode. By choosing ON – the screen is reversed
providing a different design effect if required.
•
IMPORTANT :
When using the battery backplate ensure the
setting is to AUTO. Setting the backlight to ON will seriously
affect the battery life expectancy
•
NIGHT REVERSE : OFF/ON
The patented Night Reverse Feature
will turn the screen to reverse at 9 PM for easier nighttime
viewing and return to a regular screen at 6:00AM
•
CONTRAST : 1-9
This allows to change the screen contrast for
best viewing we recommend that the setting remain at 7.

Displays filter usage in days and resets filter timer
– when activated the FILTER MONITOR icon will appear on your
HOME PAGE – this feature must be activated in ADVANCED
SETTINGS.

The LG PTAC Wireless Thermostat can be
hardwired using the Current Tap Accessory –
please refer to the installation instructions
included with each Current Tap.
CAUTION: DO NOT USE BATTERIES WHEN USING
THE CURRENT TAP - EXTREME DAMAGE CAN OCCUR.

Hardware
LG Electronics warrants the original end user (“Customer”) that new LG
Electronics branded products will be free from defects in workmanship and materials, under
normal use, for two (2) years from the original purchase date.
Software
LG Electronics warrants to Customer that the LG Electronics thermostat software
will perform in substantial conformance to its program specifications for a period of two (2)
years from the date of the original purchase.
Exclusions
This warranty excludes (1) physical damage to the surface of the product,
including cracks or scratches on the touch-screen or outside casing; (2) damage caused by
misuse, neglect, improper installation, unauthorized attempts to open, repair, or modify the
product, or any other cause beyond the range of intended use; (3) damage caused by accident,
fire, power changes, other hazard, or Acts of God; or (4) use of the product with any device
if such device causes the problem.
Exclusive Remedies
Should a covered defect occur during the warranty period and
Customer notifies LG Electronics, Customer’s sole and exclusive remedy will be, at LG
Electronics’ sole option and expense, to repair or replace the product. Replacement products
or parts may be new or reconditioned or a comparable version of the defective it?em. LG
Electronics warrants any replaced product or part for a period of ninety (90) days from
shipment, or through the end of the original warranty, whichever is longer.
Obtaining Warranty Service
Customer must contact and return product to a local LG
Electronics product dealer or installer within the applicable warranty period to obtain
warranty service. Dated proof of original purchase will be required. LG Electronics will not
be responsible for Customer’s memory data contained in, stored on, or integrated with any
products returned to LG Electronics for repair, whether under warranty or not.
Warranty Exclusive
THE FORGOING WARRANTIES AND REMEDIES ARE EXCLUSIVE AND IN
LIEU OF ALL OTHER WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF
