1.
INTRODUCTION
Before using the appliance carefully read this manual. This manual is an integral part of the machine itself;
for this reason it must be preserved with care in a safe place that is accessible to all the users (operators
and maintenance personnel) for the whole machine lifetime untildemolition.
2.
GENERAL WARNINGS
-
Plastic bags, polystyrene, staples, etc.…must not be leftwithin the reach of children as they are
potential sources of danger.
-
Before activating the appliance, make sure thatthe mains voltage corresponds to the one indicated on
the data plate.
-
DO NOT pull the power cord to remove the plug from the power socket. Instead, remove the plug
holding its body with your hand.
-
Completely unroll the electric cord during the appliance use.
-
It is allowed to use extensions, but only ifhomologated, dimensioned according to the appliance power
and in a good state of conservation.
-
Do not use the appliance if the plug or the electric cord are not in good conditions.
-
If the power cord of the appliance is damaged, it must be replaced exclusively by a technical assistance
centre authorized by the manufacturer.
-
Avoidletting the electric cord slide on sharpedges.
-
Avoid crushing the electric cord.
-
Do not use the appliance with wet orhumid hands.
-
Do not leave the appliance exposed to atmospheric agents.
-
Do not use the appliance ifit shows functioning anomalies. Instead, take it to an authorized assistance
centre.
-
In case offailure, please exclusively refer to an authorized assistance centre alwaysasking for original
spare parts.
-
Before performing any maintenance or cleaning operation it is mandatory to remove the plug from the
power socket.
-
Do not wash the appliance with waterjets.
-
Do not immerse the appliance in water or in other liquids.

Clean the appliance using a cloth soaked in water; do not use abrasivecleansers,
trichloroethylene
,
solvents.
-
When the appliance isout of order it is necessary to render it unusable by cutting the power cord
beforelending it to the appropriate collection centres.

The appliance is notintended to be used by people (including children) whose physical, sensorialor
mental capacities are reduced, or if they lack experienceor knowledge.
-
Children must besupervised tomake sure that they don’t play with the appliance.
-
The employer must inform, educate and train the user following what is prescribed by the
currentlaws.
-
Before working with this machine, prepare and train by carefully reading this manual. Not authorized
and not trained people cannot use this machine.
-
It is forbidden to
aspirate toxic substances, unless the machine is equipped with the special filters
necessary for the specific type of dust which must be expressly requested by you scrupulously
observing the current national standards.
-
Before using the appliance, the operator must be informed and trained to use the machine and about
the substances for which the appliance will be used, includingthe removal and disposal of aspirated
material.
-
For maintenance, the machine must be disassembled, cleaned and repaired, as far as possible, without
causing risks for the maintenance personnel and for others. The precautions include decontamination
before dismantling, the correct ventilation in the rooms in case of the machine disassembling, the
maintenance zone cleaning andan appropriate protection of the personnel.
-
The manufacturer, or an educated person, should inspect the appliance at least once a year checking
if, for example, the filtering system is intact, if the air flux is correct and if the machine control system
works correctly.
-
When performing maintenance or repairs, all contaminated parts that cannot be adequately cleaned
must be eliminated; these parts must be placed in impermeable bags according to current regulations
on that type of waste
-
For Class H: The manufacturer, or instructed personnel, must inspect the equipment at least once a
year checking, for example, whether the filtration system is intact, the air flow correct and the machine
control system operating correctly. Additionally, the filtration system on class H machines must be
tested at least once a year following the instructions in standard 60335-‐2-‐69 chap.22.AA.201.2. If the
test fails, the class H filter must be replaced and retested.

For the M and H Class, the machine outside will have to be decontaminated using anaspirator, acloth
or be treated with a sealant before taking the machine outside the danger area. All the machines will

be considereddecontaminated once theyhave exited from the danger zones and onceevery action
necessary to avoid that the dust is dispersed has been performed.

For class M and H, the machine must be thoroughly cleaned before leaving the contaminated zone and
transported.
-
It is necessary to guarantee an appropriate exchange of airin the room where the machine is used.
Please refer to the national standards.

ATTENTION: this machine is intended for dust aspiration only

APPLIANCE DEMOLITION
For environmental safeguard, proceed according to the local current. When the appliance is neither usable
nor repairable, proceed with the componentsdifferentiated disposal.
The electrical equipment cannot be disposed asan urban waste, but it is necessary to respect the separated
collection introduced by the specialrule for disposal of waste derived from electrical (dlg n 151 of the
25/7/05 -‐ 2002/96/ CE -‐ 2003/108/CE).
Electrical equipment is marked by a symbol bearinga crossed out wheeled bin. This symbol indicates that
the equipment has beenplaced on the market after 13august 2005 and that it must beseparately collected.
An inappropriate or abusive disposal of the equipment or a misuse of it, in consideration of the contained
substances and materials could cause damages to persons and to the environment. The disposal of
electrical waste which doesn’t complywith the current standardswill involve the application
administrativeand criminal sanction.
4.
REFERENCE REGULATIONS
The appliance has been built in conformity with thecurrent Machinery Directive and in conformity with the
standards indicated in the “EC” declaration of conformity.

UNPACKING
Once the packaging has been removed following the indications in theinstructions on the packaging itself,
check the integrity of the appliance and of all of its supplied. If you encounter clear damages please
contactthe dealer or an authorized assistance centre.

6.
DESCRIPTION OF THE VACUUM
INTRODUCTION
It is important that the vacuum isconducted by responsible personswhich maintain a correct functioning,
maintenance and repair use. If functioning problems arise, please contact the dealer. The buyer is not
authorized to modify or tamper the vacuum, failing which the invalidation of the warrantyand the
exemption from every liabilityon possible damages to things or persons by the manufacturer.
INTENDED USE AND MISUSE
The vacuum AS40 KS has been designed tovacuum dust, solid bodies of various sizes and processing
residues constituted by a mix of dust. It is prohibited to vacuum materials with the risk of explosions or
singularly inert materials but which, once vacuumed and mixed in the collection container, could cause
dangerous chemical reactions. It is absolutely prohibited to use the vacuumin explosive atmospheres or
outside the standard temperature, pressure or humidity values. Uses different from those listed above are
not allowed. Any use different from the one for which the vacuum has been built represents an anomalous
condition which couldharmthe appliance andconstitute a serious hazard for the user.

The manufacturer cannot be considered liable for possible damages caused by an improper or incorrect
use. Any other userelieves the manufacturer from any responsibility for damages to persons and/or
things andvoids any warranty condition.
Important!
Always use dedicated filters depending on the type of dusts ordebris to be vacuumed.
NOISE LEVEL
Noise measurements have been perform in accordance with what is establishedby the
MachineryDirective
2006/42/EC
. The phonometric tests performed on these specific vacuum models, at a distance of 1 meter
andfrom an height of 1,60 meters, in correspondence with the mostnoisy position, with respect to the four
sides of the machines, highlight an acoustic pressure (LpA) not higher than:

The vibrationsto thehand-‐arm systemtransmitted by the machine are lower than 2,5 m/s

Important!
Pursuant to the Legislative Decree81/08, the workers exposed to sound pressure levels higher than 85 dB
(A) must be protected by specific individual protection devices.
For this reason, it is necessary to, if the processingrequire the usein those conditions, provide workers
with endorsed individual acoustic protectionsand to inform themabout the risks deriving fromexposure to
noise.

OPENING THE PACKAGING
The vacuum is fixedto a woodenpallet through metal brackets andwood screwsand it’s covered bystrapped
cardboard. At the packaging openingit is necessary to checkthat all the parts are intact and that they
haven’t suffereddamages during transport.If the packaging shows damages immediately complaint
againstthe carrier and record that the material is withdrawn subject to control.

8.
PUTTING INTO SERVICE

Make sure that the power plug is correctly inserted in the power socket.
-‐
Make sure that the flexible hose is regularly inserted and blocked in the appropriate suctionvent.
-‐
Make sure that the power cord and the possible used extension are intact, in aperfect state of
conservation.
-‐
Hold the flexible hose extremity with the chosen vacuum accessory.
-‐
Press “I” to start vacuuming.
-‐
Press “0” to stop vacuuming.
-‐
When the pressure gauge indicator is in the red zone, check the vacuum filters and tube.
! ATTENTION, DANGER
In the case of M and H Class vacuums, only use hoses with a diameter indicated in the “Technical Data”
chart.
! ATTENTION, DANGER
During functioning, always check that the manometer hand remains in the green sector. If the hand
moves in the red zone it means that it’s necessary to clean or replace the filters.
9.
SHAKING THE PRIMARY FILTER
! ATTENTION, DANGER
Turn off the machine before shaking the filter. Do not shake the filter when the machine is on.
Use the lever “C” to shake the filterFigure 2 by moving it left and right a few times.
Wait before restarting in order to allow dust todeposit. If the hand remains in the red zone even after
shaking the filter, replace the filtering systems.
DUSTS CONTAINER EMPTYING

Before performing these operations, turn off the machine and remove the plug from the power socket.

These operations can be performed, in accordance with the current laws, only by specialized and trained
personnel, while wearing the necessary safetyclothing.
In any case, always refer to the current national standards and laws.

Release the dusts container “K” Figure 1, remove and empty it.

Check the sealing gasket integrity and correct positioning

Reposition and hang it backup.

REPLACING THE PRIMARY FILTER AND THE CARTRIDGE FILTER
! ATTENTION, DANGER
During these operations, pay attention not to raise dust. Use clothingand a mask in accordance with the
national current laws.
Before processing these operations, turn off the machine and remove the plug from the power socket.

Raise the vacuum leverage “E” placed below to release and extract the container.

Attention!
The debris on the filter and the filter itself must be disposed following the standards of the country where
the vacuum is being used.
The container blocking operation must be performed by one person which must lower the leverage using
both hands.
