Layout identification:
1. Chime Volume Control
The chime output volume is adjustable. Turn the level control anti clockwise to the lowest setting,
or turn clockwise to adjust to the highest setting.
2. Chime Activation
Press to activate the Chime function. The chime function has priority over all channels,
muting the channels 5-10 when the chime is activated.
3. Paging Microphone Volume Control
The paging microphone volume is adjustable. Turn the level control anti clockwise to the lowest setting,
or turn clockwise to adjust to the highest setting. When the paging microphone is activated, the mixer
will must channels 5-10.
4. MIC/Line Volume Control
Each of the MIC/Line volumes are adjustable. Turn the level control anti clockwise to the lowest setting,
or turn clockwise to adjust to the highest setting.
5. Mode Switch
The mode switch allows the installer to choose from either MIC or Line level signal inputs.
MIC : Microphone level input with 300Hz high pass filter. Activate the MIC to reduce stage
rumble or to improve the intelligibility when using traditional 100V horn speakers.
MIC : Full range microphone level input.
LINE: Full range line level input for use with audio sources such as CD players & radio tuners.
6. Output Level Indicator
The output level indicator (VU meter) has three green LEDs, one amber LED and one red LED. During
normal operation, the output meter should show only green LEDs. As the output reaches maximum, the
amber LED will illuminate followed by the red LED to indicate +3dB over signal.
7. Master Zone 1 LF/HF Controls
During initial setup the high frequency and low frequency tone adjustments should be set to the zero
point (3 O'clock position). Turn the level control anti clockwise to reduce the high/low frequency tones,
or turn clockwise to adjust the increase the high/low frequency tones. Adjustments should be made
gradually to avoid any sudden changes to the audio output.
8. Master Zone Output Volume Controls
The monitor output volume is adjustable. Turn the level control anti clockwise to the lowest setting,
or turn clockwise to adjust to the highest setting. This is used to control the volume for the 1W 8ohm
loudspeaker output on the rear panel of the zone mixer.

9. Power Indicator LED
The Power LED will illuminate to indicate the zone mixer is powered on. If the power LED is
not illuminated, check first the position of the on/off switch and then check the mains supply
(including fuse).
10. Chime Output Select
The chime function may be routed to output zone 1, output zone 2 or both. Use the slide switch
to select as required.
11. Signal Indicator LED
Each of the input channels features an LED to give a visual indication if an input signal present
on the relevant channel.
12. Output Zone Routing Selection
The output of each individual input channel may routed to output zone 1, output zone 2 or both.
Use the slide switch to select as required.
13. Priority Selection
The user may select from either MIC/LINE2, MIC/LINE3 or MIC/LINE4 to be highest priority. Using a
small screwdriver, carefully remove the small protection cover to the right of MIC/LINE2 in order to
reveal the three way dipswitch. To switch priority ON for a given channel, move the dipswitch to the
ON position. Note: Only one channel should be selected at any one time.
14. Master Zone 2 LF/HF Controls
15. Power Switch
On/Off control for the zone amplifier.
16. AC Mains Power Input
240V~50Hz AC mains voltage input. This product falls under CLASS 1 and must have a protective
earth connection at all times.
17. DC Power Input
For connection to battery backup power sources, or for operation from leisure type batteries. The ZM
102 mixer may be used from 24V DC power sources. Care should be taken to ensure an inline fuse is
fitted to the +ve supply and the power is connected with observing the polarity.
18. Balance Main Outputs
Balanced, +4dBu mono outputs for each of the two output zones. Each zone output features
a male XLR connector.

19. Record / Line Outputs
Unbalanced, 0dBu mono outputs for each of the two output zones. Each zone output features a female
phono (RCA) connector. The output volume for the record outputs is fixed and is not altered by the
master volume control for the zone outputs. The white phono socket outputs zone 2, while the red
phono socket outputs zone 1.
20. Line Inputs 7-10
Unbalanced, -10dBV (245mV) line inputs for channels 7-10 suitable for use with audio sources such as
CD players or FM Tuners. Each stereo input features a pair of female phono (RCA) connectors, summed
to mono internally. Selection of the Line input must be made via the front panel MODE selector
switches.
21. MIC/Line Inputs 7-10
MIC/Line inputs 7-10 all feature balanced, mono audio inputs, switchable MIC, MIC with Low Cut or
LINE. When used in either MIC or MIC with Low Cut mode, the mixer will provide 48V phantom power.
To reduce stage rumble, the mixer features MIC with Low Cut mode where a 300Hz high pass filter may
be enable to help reduce background noise and increase intelligibility.
For LINE input, the mixer features a pair of stereo phono sockets (summed to mono internally) for each
of the input channels. To use the LINE input, use the selector switch on the front panel of the mixer.
22. MIC/Line Inputs 2-6
MIC/Line inputs 7-10 all feature balanced, mono audio inputs, switchable MIC, MIC with Low Cut or
LINE. When used in either MIC or MIC with Low Cut mode, the mixer will provide 48V phantom power,
selection is made via the switch on the front panel. To reduce stage rumble, the mixer features MIC
with Low Cut mode where a 300Hz high pass filter may be enable to help reduce background noise and
increase intelligibility. To use the LINE input, use the selector switch on the front panel of the mixer.
23. Paging Microphone Input
Dedicated input for the PM ZM 102 Paging microphone.
Pin1 = Microphone +ve (hot)
Pin2 = Microphone Ground
Pin3 = Microphone –ve (cold)
Pin4 = Function Ground
Pin5 = Priority Activate (short to Function Ground)
Pin6 = Chime Activate (short to Function Ground)
Pin7 = LED Power (24V DC)
24. Chime Interface
To activate the chime function, a connection should be made between the two terminals by the way of
a contact closure relay. The volume for the chime may be adjusted on the front panel of the unit.

Power On/Off Procedure
Prior to making any connection to the mains power or audio inputs/outputs, turn all level controls
counter clockwise to the “min” position and all tone (equaliser) controls to the mid (zero) point.
Switch on the zone mixer and any audio sources (MP3 players, CD players, Microphones etc) before
powering the systems amplifier ON. The last product to be switched on should be the power/slave
amplifiers to prevent any unwanted noise or potential damage to speakers or amplifiers. If you wish
to power off the system, turn the amplifier’s master volume control counter clockwise to the “min”
position before switching the amplifier OFF before any audio sources are switched off. By following this
procedure it will prevent acoustic shocks to the speakers or potential damage to system components.
After connecting all audio sources and powering on the system, adjust the level of each audio input,
select the zone routing in order to achieve the desired “mix” for each zone. Care should be taken
to when adjusting microphone input volumes and the master volume, adjust both of these in small
increment’s to avoid feedback (howl around). The goal is to achieve a clear balance between music
and voice ensuring announcements can be clearly heard.
