ASSEMBLY
The workshop delivers the Crazy Horse bike ready for use, mounted
to your wheelchair and adjusted to your needs.
SPECIFICATIONS/
USABILITY
Crazy Horse as a special innovation is a one-wheel assembly kit for
wheelchairs. An adaptor ensures that it can be mounted to
customary active and folding wheelchairs.
It is powered via the handrims on the wheelchair.
When travelling on pavements and public roadways, the use of a
safety helmet, a bell and lights is recommended.
By mounting Crazy Horse to your wheelchair, the manufacturer’s
warranty lapses.
HANDLING
Uneven surfaces (e.g. pavements, manhole covers, road edges, etc.)
cause unintentional steering movements and handlebar lifting.
In such situations, we recommend keeping the handlebar at a steady
position until the vehicle reaches even ground again.
You will face new situations every time you ride your bike and you
will have to master them just as you do in all areas of life such as
everyday tasks, leisure time, etc. Benefit from the adaptability of
Crazy Horse to the needs of its users. It provides you with sufficient
riding comfort and high operational security. This manual will give
you all information necessary.
Warning!
Please observe the security instructions!
Warning!
Please ride particularly carefully on your first trip and
familiarise yourself with the handling of the vehicle.
Please ride particularly slow in bends!
Let your bike roll over uneven surfaces while keeping the
handlebar straight!
Warning!
Increased safety hazard from rolling over sideways due to
inappropriate speed on uneven surfaces, particularly in bends
or due to unintentional turning while observing the traffic
behind (vehicles turning left)!

SAFETY INFORMATION
Only mount Crazy Horse to
suitable,
customary active, folding or sports utility wheelchairs
Ask your specialist dealer whether your wheelchair is suitable or
not – safety hazard!
The Crazy Horse wheelchair combination with bike function may
only be used on solid, even ground and asphalted paths.
Always regularly ride Crazy Horse with both hands on the
handrims of your wheelchair.
Increased safety hazard due to riding inappropriately, particularly
in bends, on pavements, manhole covers and the like!
Warning, reduce speed:
in tight bends,
on steep slopes,
on side slopes,
on uneven, wet or
dirty surfaces.
The above factors present an increased level of danger if
combined.
Only ride over obstacles at walking speed while using the
handrims! Max. obstacle height 5 cm, (depending on caster wheel
clearance and footrest).
The Crazy Horse wheelchair combination is approved for a single
person with a maximum weight of 95 kg.
Only mount Crazy Horse to suitable wheelchairs with one-piece,
trip-safe footrests. This is to ensure a closed, rigid frame
construction of the wheelchair which is necessary for heavy-duty
use.
Never ride without handrims.
If the Crazy Horse front wheel loses grip (particularly on slopes),
the "tricycle" may only be steered via the rear wheels of the
wheelchair (handrims).
Prior to every trip, visually check your wheelchair frame for
fissures and other damage.
Warning!
Increased safety hazard due to rolling backwards on slopes in case
of loss of traction.
For more riding safety:
wheelbase extension, -(increased traction of rear wheel
and more favourable centre of gravity),
negative camber, -(enhanced stability due to larger
wheel contact surface),
wheel spacers for the rear wheels,
deeper sitting position, - (enhanced stability due to
lower centre of gravity),
active lighting,
safety helmet and gloves and respective clothing,
drive wheels with hand and spoke protection,
speedometer.
Prior to each trip, check the Crazy Horse connection to the
wheelchair frame and the quick release axle latch on the
wheelchair.
Furthermore, permanent maintenance of the combination is
essential due to its increased strain, (e.g. screw connections, tyres,
brakes, etc.)
Twisted or bent frame tubes of the wheelchair or Crazy Horse
must not be reused even after straightening! - Increased safety
hazard!

CRAZY HORSE- MOUNTING
After initial adaptation by your specialist dealer, your Crazy Horse
may be mounted to all suitable customary active, folding and
sports utility wheelchairs without the use of tools and in a few
simple steps (see Fig. 1).
Note:
How to proceed:
1.
Push the corresponding clamping rail over the respective front
frame tube. Wheelchair connection (Fig. 1). Open the clamping
rails via the clamping levers (A, Fig.2). The clamping bolt on each
side (B, Fig. 3) has not clicked into the latch (C, Fig. 3) of the
respective turnbuckle lock. To unlock, pull the rope. - (D, Fig. 3)
2.
Tighten the clamping lever (A, Fig. 2) of the corresponding
clamping rail.
3.
Push forward the steering unit until the turnbuckle lock clicks
into place. – The caster wheels are both lifted from the ground.
The clamping bolt on each side (B, Fig. 3) automatically clicks into
the latch (C, Fig. 3) of the respective turnbuckle lock.
Please always verify that the latch is locked!
If the clearance of the caster wheel is insufficient, the Crazy Horse
wheel will easily loses grip on uneven surfaces. – Have turnbuckles
reset by specialist dealer!
Lower and loosen connection.
Push forward the steering unit, pull the turnbuckle rope (Fig. 3)
and slowly lower the steering unit.
Loosen the clamping lever (A, Fig. 2) of the corresponding
clamping rail and draw it out by turning it until the corresponding
connection can be pulled over the corresponding frame tube.
Note:
To improve the centre of gravity, modify the wheelbase to its widest
possible setting. A wheelbase extension from your wheelchair's
manufacturer would be best.
Note:
To quickly mount
your Crazy Horse to your wheelchair in the same
position, apply
marks or
use the
stand
!
Warning!
Frequently check the locking screws for tightness.
Safety hazard!
Note:
By mounting Crazy Horse to your wheelchair, damages to the coating
caused by locking screws on the wheelchair frame tubes are to be
expected!

SERVICING
Maintenance:
Just as with any other technical device, your Crazy Horse requires
servicing. The following servicing instructions describe all
necessary measures in a table so that you may receive the full
benefits from your Crazy Horse even after long-term use.
Care
Coating:
Clean the coating with a moist cloth. Hard-to-remove dirt may be
removed using a customary mild detergent. Stains may be
removed with a sponge or a smooth brush.
Note:
Do not use aggressive cleaning agents, e. g.
solvents, detergents or hard brushes etc.
The high-quality surface coating provides optimum protection
against corrosion. If the coating is scratched, a customary touch-
up pen can be used. Movable parts (also see “Maintenance”
section) should be slightly oiled from time to time to ensure you
get the most of your Crazy Horse.
To care for chrome parts, it is sufficient to rub them clean with a
dry cloth. Tarnished surfaces or hard-to-remove dirt may be best
cleaned using name brand cleaning agents.
Slight lubrication of steel parts (e.g. spokes, bell cover) with
petroleum jelly avoids premature tarnishing of chrome-plated
parts.
Plastic parts:
The handles, hand brake lever and other components consist of
high-quality plastic parts. Clean them with customary plastic
cleaners. Observe the manufacturer’s specific product
information.
Repair:
Please do not hesitate to contact your specialist workshop for
repair. The staff is generally qualified and instructed to perform
any repairs.
