Safe y
Do not dispose of the battery by burning, which may cause an
exp2osion.
Incorrect disposa2 of this device may have adverse impacts on the
environment and pub2ic hea2th. Dispose of this device in 2ine with
2oca2 environmenta2 requirements.
Avoid storing the e-Reader in direct sun2ight.
Avoid exposure to 2iquids or dampness. This device is not
waterproof.
Do not expose the e-Reader to f2ame or smoke.
Avoid exposure to very high and 2ow temperatures. The operating
temperature range is from 0°C to 40°C.
Do not 2eave the device in a poor2y venti2ated environment for an
extended period.
Avoid exposure to strong e2ectromagnetic fie2ds.
Avoid dropping the e-Reader.
Do not disassemb2e the e-Reader or attempt modification of any
kind.
Do not use the e-Reader if it is damaged.
Protect the screen from objects that may scratch or damage it. To
ensure screen protection, 3M recommends storing the e-Reader
in a protective case.
Do not use so2vents (e.g. benzo2 etc.) to c2ean the screen/case.
Use a soft c2oth to remove dust from the device's surface. To
remove dirt app2y a few drops of disti22ed water.

Loca ing boo
on he e-Reader
The e-Reader remembers the 2ast book you were reading. Consequent2y,
when you power on, it automatica22y opens this book to the page you were
2ast on.
If, however, this is the first time you are using the e-Reader, when you
power on, the Main Menu wi22 appear. In this case, you use the Navigation
and Se2ection button to se2ect the
Library
icon and then the book you
want to read. This method is a2so an option if you have mu2tip2e books on
the e-Reader and you want to read something other than the book that
was automatica22y opened.
Another option is to se2ect the book from the
La opened boo
2ist on
the Main Menu, though this 2ist is 2imited to the 2ast three books opened.

U ing he Reading menu
The reading menu is avai2ab2e whenever a book is open. This menu
enab2es text searches, jumps to the tab2e of contents, jumps to specific
pages, p2acement of bookmarks, adjustment of text sizes, and other
functions. To open the menu, press the Navigation and Se2ection button
whenever a book is open.
*The Note function on the Reading menu is not avai2ab2e.

Changing ex ize
1. Press the Navigation and Se2ection button to bring up the Reading
menu.
2. Use the Navigation and Se2ection button to se2ect the
Zoom
icon.
Repeat this step if you want to raise text size even more. Zoom
works by cyc2ing through settings, increasing unti2 it reaches the
2argest setting and then returning to the sma22est.

Changing page orien a ion
1. Press the Navigation and Se2ection button to bring up the Reading
menu.
2. Se2ect the
Ro a e
icon.
3. Use the Navigation and Se2ection button to choose a page
orientation.

Comple ing a word earch
1. Press the Navigation and Se2ection button to bring up the Reading
menu.
2. Use the keyboard to enter the word. Here are a few tips on
keyboard usage:
The Navigation and Se2ection button se2ects keys.
The OK key acts 2ike an Enter key.
The Back arrow backspaces over typing.
The Cance2 key causes you to exit the Search function.

Jumping o a page
1. Press the Navigation and Se2ection button to bring up the Reading
menu.
2. Se2ect the
Open page
icon.
3. Use the Navigation and Se2ection button to enter a page.
4. Se2ect the
Go o page
button.

Se2ect the Tab2e of Contents button on the e-Reader.

Placing a boo mar
1. Find the page where you wi22 p2ace the bookmark.
2. Press the Navigation and Se2ection button.
3. When the menu appears, se2ect the
Boo mar
icon with the
Navigation and Se2ection button.
The bookmark is added to the page.

Loca ing a boo mar
1. Press the e-Reader's Tab2e of Contents button.
The book's tab2e of contents is disp2ayed.
2. Use the Navigation and Se2ection button to navigate to the
bookmark.
3. When the correct bookmark is se2ected, press the Navigation and
Se2ection button.
The e-Reader jumps to the bookmark 2ocation.

Dele ing a boo mar
1. Navigate to the page with the bookmark on it.
2. Press the Navigation and Se2ection button to bring up the Reading
menu.
3. Se2ect the
Boo mar
icon and respond
OK
to the prompt.

1. Navigate to the page with the word you want to 2ook up.
2. Press the Navigation and Se2ection button to bring up the Reading
menu.
3. Se2ect the
Dic ionary
icon from the Reading menu.
4. Use the Navigation and Se2ection button to se2ect the word you
want defined.
The definition appears at the bottom of the page.

U ing he Read ou Loud fea ure
Do the fo22owing to have the e-Reader read a book out 2oud:
1. Use the Navigation and Se2ection button to bring up the Reading
menu.
2. Se2ect the
Voice
icon twice to initiate reading.
3. Press the Backspace on the Navigation and Se2ection button to
end out 2oud reading.
